Coby Persin describes himself as a 21-year-old You Tube prankster who looks like Zac Efron. So what, you ask? Well his latest video is a social experiment in order to show the potential dangers of social media use, especially among the younger population. The intent was to show parents the access their children have at their fingertips. This is not to say social media is completely bad; it can be a great way to share and connect with friends. It is just important to be mindful that it can also be a breeding ground for people with malicious intent.

Persin said he posted an ad on Craigslist looking for parents willing to participate in his social experiment, “The Dangers of Social Media (Child Predator Social Experiment).” Persin posed as a 15-year-old boy over Facebook. With parental permission, he chatted with six different girls, but only three agreed to meet with him in real life. The video, uploaded on August 10, has already exceeded 10 million views.

Watch the experiment below, then comment whether you think this is tough love, or too extreme.
